I am directed by the Secretary of State for War to acknowledge the receipt of Colonial Office letter of 2nd April, 10919/1901, and to inform you that he concurs in the communication Mr. Secretary Chamberlain proposes to make to the Governor of Hong Kong to the effect that there is no advantage in his attending the meetings of the Annual Military Estimates Committee, at the same time calling Sir Henry Blake's attention to the Colonial Regulations bearing on the relations of himself to the General Officer Commanding the Troops.

A copy of a revised draft letter which it is proposed to address to the General Officer Commanding, Hong Kong, is enclosed, and I am to ask whether Mr. Chamberlain concurs therein.
